home organisation

From the playroom, to the kitchen, to the bedrooms, I love to organise every room. Now don’t get me wrong, we are pretty messy around here with two kiddies, so the point of organisation is that everything eventually has its place and will eventually make its way back, not to keep it all perfectly clean 24/7.

Before I got onto labelling, everything became messier and messier, and the worse it got, the less I wanted to deal with it.

Kids’ bedrooms

The girls’ drawers I found were the hardest to keep organised, especially as they need so many changes a day and my 4 year old loves to dress herself. So, creating individual boxes with all the small stuff- like undies, socks and singlets makes mornings, and bath time a lot easier and the girls’ have their own labelled boxes so we can find items with ease.

I also labelled their pyjamas and accessories making life just that little bit easier.

Playroom

Labelling toys is a real biggie for me!

As much as I encourage the kids to play with one toy at a time, sometimes box after box comes out (especially when they have friends over), but at least once it’s packing away time, we can eaisly sort each toy bak into the correct box or basket.

Another point I always make is not to make a “bits and pieces” or “random” box. Because you know what, you will find and create a pile of miscellaneous stuff.

Everything has its place, and without these random boxes you’ll always have everything back where they belong.

Kitchen

The heart to the home, where you spend most of the day preparing meals esp when you have little kiddies who constantly want to snack.

Labelling food containers and baskets is the biggest favour you can do for yourself.

Not only is it extremely practical, it allows you know when each supply is running low and as a bonus looks very attractive all lined up 😊

I use my black baskets to keep all the extra opened and unopened packs (think of it as your mini supermarket at home)

Then the clear containers hold everything from flour, to sugar to crackers, biscuits, pasta etc…
